The NASHVILLE SPIKEBALL LEAGUE is a friendly social club for beginner to intermediate spikeball players, founded by Brian "Bee" Kelly in 2024. We meet weekly on the main lawn of Centennial Park during the summer months, and we record player statistics and rankings for fun. We're always open to new friends, as long as they're good sports!
Our regular season usually takes place from May-September, with a midseason break in July. We post monthly schedules on our website and socials, so keep an eye out for updates!
On most Fridays during the summer, you'll find us at Centennial from 5:30-8pm. We encourage players to mix up teams throughout the night, so you don't need to bring a teammate to play. You can come and go anytime – but don't forget to log your stats!
About once a month, we'll host a special event on a Saturday or Sunday to spice things up, including our own league "tournaments." While these tourneys aren't official roundnet events, they're competitive for our league and players can receive a boost in their rankings! Teams sign up to play on our website and wear uniforms of their choice... creativity is always welcome.
Our first tournament, the Centennial Cup, is held in June as the first half of the season comes to a close. Winners drink out of the hallowed Centennial Cup, which totally isn't a miniature version of the Piston Cup from Cars. "He did WHAT in his cup?"
The quirkiest tourney of the year, and for many players, their favorite! Co-ed teams dance around the net in thrifted prom fits of their choosing at this beginner-friendly event. The winning team is crowned and sashed as Prom King & Queen.
This one's for all the marbles! The GSC is our final tournament of the year, and our most competitive. To be eligible, players must log at least one game during a season event, ensuring everyone has a stake (spike?) in the fight for the prized league trophy.
Our league is tailored for beginner to intermediate players, and we are a friendly social club first and foremost. We don't follow every rule to a tee, and we like it that way. If you compete in official roundnet tournments and/or your Roundnet Player Rating (RPR) is 4,0+, you're likely too advanced for us, and you may want to check out other leagues that can accommodate your skill level.
We do allow a select number of advanced "Mentors" to join the league on a case-by-case basis, but only if they're able to downshift and help teach newbies the basics! Mentors do not participate in player rankings or league tournaments; they're good sports and we appreciate their love for the game and this club. :)
